COVID-19 Community Response | June Update

To be locked in for safety is very counter-intuitive for the women at Eden. The countrywide lockdown created reminders of slavery for them and this temporary loss of freedom increased anxiety and triggered PTSD symptoms in many women.

Throughout this crisis, we have been so proud of Eden's program staff who continue to provide dedicated and intentional care for the women and girls.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of their brilliant ideas was dreaming up the Friday Fun Party on the shelter's rooftop. Each Friday, we now look forward to games with wonderful prizes, party snacks, and many laughs! These times of fun continue to help to reduce stress, establish a new routine, build community, and create a healing atmosphere.

You can help support Eden's program during this time by purchasing one of our Charity Gift Cards. When you purchase a gift of safe shelter, education, therapy, and vocational training, you join us in tackling injustice and empowering women to dream again.

"The amazing work that Eden’s doing is changing lives one at a time. And it doesn’t stop with just bringing people off the streets. The restoration and renewal of hope through training of a trade and work placement is something truly admirable and sorely needed in this generation!"
